This is the most common and efficient method for producing standard-sized H-sections in large quantities. It's a continuous, high-temperature process.

1.Melting and Casting: Raw materials (iron ore, chromium, nickel, molybdenum, etc.) are melted in an electric arc furnace (EAF). The molten steel is refined in an Argon Oxygen Decarburization (AOD) vessel to precisely control the chemical composition and remove impurities. The refined molten stainless steel is continuously cast into long, rectangular bars called blooms or slabs. These are the semi-finished starting points.

2.Reheating: The solid bloom is passed through a reheat furnace, where it is heated to a very high temperature (typically above 1200°C / 2192°F). This makes the steel plastic and malleable for rolling.

3.Rolling Mill - The Universal Mill: The hot bloom is passed through a series of rolls in a universal mill. This is the key piece of equipment. Horizontal Rolls: These contact the flanges of the section, controlling their width and thickness. Vertical Rolls: These simultaneously contact the web, controlling its height and thickness. The bloom passes back and forth through these rolls, with the gaps between the rolls being progressively reduced. With each pass, the metal is squeezed and elongated, gradually forming the familiar H-shape.

4.Cooling and Straightening: The newly formed, glowing-hot H-section moves onto a cooling bed, where it air-cools to room temperature. Controlled cooling is crucial to achieve the desired metallurgical properties. After cooling, the long beam may have warped slightly. It is passed through a series of rollers in a straightening machine to ensure it is perfectly straight. 

5.Cutting to Length and Inspection: The continuous beam is cut to standard lengths (e.g., 12 meters) or specific customer lengths using heavy-duty saws. The final product is inspected for dimensional accuracy, surface quality, and mechanical properties.
